I matched into IM categorical Residency with a family physician's LOR. And was mentioned about the LOR in almost all interviews. San Jose California offers great opportunity to learn in person as well as via tele rotation. If you live around Bay area, I would recommend you to visit the clinic in person. If not tele externship is also offered and it is the best opportunity to learn about American healthcare system and get a personalized LOR.
