Year to wait

Does anyone have recommendations for what to do if unable to scramble for a residency position and have a year to burn??? Failing my step 2 has put me out of the residency ball game for this year and I do not want to waste the next year... Is there any location besides AMA that lists open residency positions? Any help will be greatly appreciated!

What don't you take your step 2 ASAP, so you can take part in scramble. I know people who got positions in May and june.
