Metformin is useful in the management of Obese, Diabetic pts. Adding of the which of the following drugs with metformin decreases TG, Increases HDL and Improves Non-Alcholic steatohepatitis.

A) Lovastatin

B) Niacin

C) Rosiglitazone or Pioglitazone

D) Alchol

well lova and niacin both inc HDL and Dec Choles and also Dec TGL.

Nia increases HDL more than Lova

But Lova has high mortality benifit

so lets go with LOVA LOVA

is it rosiglitazone ?
i read that rosiglitazone can cause an increase in both LDL and HDL, decrease free fatty acids and increase insulin sensitivity.
another side effect of rosi. is pregnancy!!!! becasue it incrases insulin sensitivity so much that pre menopausal woman can ovulate. (PCOS)

you are rite if Rosiglitazone is given alone but if it is combined with Metformin, it decreases TG, increases HDL and improves non Alcholic steatohepatits
