a young male had pain in his right leg for the past 5 days. He says that he recently added jogging to his weight-lifting workouts, and he started running 5 miles per day 2 weeks ago.5 ft 10 in tall and weighs 85 kg . On physical examination he has moderate tenderness over the midtibia. X-ray of the leg will most likely show

A stress fracture is an overuse injury. It occurs when muscles become fatigued and are unable to absorb added shock. Eventually, the fatigued muscle transfers the overload of stress to the bone causing a tiny crack called a stress fracture.
Stress fractures are difficult to see on X-rays until they've actually started to heal.
