18 yo woman G! just delivered a healthy baby male 3500 g, without complications. She is worried because at 8 week of gestation she had in her us " 5 cm right adnexal cystic mass "that sponteneoulsy disappeared and was no longer in her US at 16 weeks.
1. corpus luteum cyst
2. theca-lutein cyst
3. luteoma of pregnancy
4. polycistic ovary
5. absess

The case describe a classic CORPUS LUTEUM CYST OF PREGNANCY, that resolven sponteneously when the placente took over the function of progesterone production
These are UNILATERAL, simple cysts, they are considered an EXAGGERATED RESPONSE to a norma physiological event. Managment is conservative due to its dissapearance later.

Differntial Dg with luteoma of pregnancy:
This is a RARE nonneoplastic condition ussually affecting BOTH ovaries and show enlargement duringl ALL PREGNANCY. They look like big ovaries instead of a big mass attached to the ovaries. No Tx neccesary, it is self limiting after pregnancy.
