Which of the following are derived from neural crest cells?

A) Oligodendrocytes ( ans. is from Neuro ectoderm )


B) Cells that synapse in the terminal ganglia in the wall of the gut.

C) Cells that secrete aldosterone in the adrenal gland
( aldosterone is derived from adrenal cortex derived from Mesoderm)
D) Parafollicular cells of thyroid gland
------ this was the ans given
E) Cells that secrete vasopressin into the neurohypophysis
( Vasopressin ( A.D.H ) is produced from posterior pituatory i.e Neurohypophysis, derivative of Neuroectoderm)


Please clarify between options "B" and "D"

Thats right ans is E as parafollicular cell are derived from neural crest cells

terminal ganglia in the wall of gut is not derived from neural crest cells

Dear Faisal91, thank you for responding to my question, the ganglia ( sensory and autonomic ) in general are derivatives of neural crest so why not C too. Answer "D" is clearly mentnioned under the derivatives list from neural crest but C is doubtful. Otherwise i accept with D for sure. pls clarify. thank you.
