#1
UW: always start with painful shoulder
Kaplan: start with the other one

Can anyone tell which is correct?

hi zjq1964.I've not begun with uw yet.as far as I know we should begin with the non-diseased shoulder first(start examing away from the site of pain).

let's see what uw users suggest.

I just know that if a patient comes to me for shoulder pain I will look at the shoulder for which the patient is complanning first then I will compare the other one just to make sure tht the other one is not painful also,
stating away from the pain site is when you are reviewing the abdomen
