22 y olf woman with aml undergoes evaluation prior to discharge, she has received induction chemo and transfusion via a subcutaneus central venous catheter for the past 4 weeks. 2 days ago, results of a complete blood and bone marrow count showed no abnormalities. well healed skin over the catheter. The remainder of the examination shows no abnormalities. the physician review the patient discharge plan with her and family, what is the most appropriate reccomendation?
a avoiding bath in a shower or bathtub
b hand washing with antibacterial soap before touching the catheter
c placement of a new sterile dressing at the site of access
d topical mupirocin
e oral penicciln

its E. due to myelosuppressive effect of chemo.

Bloom why myelosuppression? after 4 weeks of trt CBC/ and Bmarrow are OK, no signs of infections or inflammation ( no fever no redness no swelling...) could you explain please?
