thanx for ur inputs on PN.. Can we use the one in FA AND UW also.. usmle org website didnt give much abbreviations.. so was worried.. for example, can we write BS + [bowel sounds]
CTA B/L [clear to auscultation b/l] or chest : clear.. thanx

Congratulations on your high performance. i read something on the usmle.org step2 CS orientatation manual that kind of contradicts what u said in the original post. I m thinking perhaps your star was due to your well written PN and not necessarily writing what u wld ve done.
here is the excerpt
"You will not receive credit for listing examination
procedures you WOULD have done or questions you
WOULD have asked had the encounter been longer.
Write ONLY the information you elicited from the
patient through either physical examination or history
taking."
i am just saying this for pple who may not have enough time and then goin ahead to include those things while there is actually no credit for it. there is obviously no penalty either so...

let's thank his good intent to help us, more than that he draw our attention to use the abbreviations which will save our time in writing PN.
thankyou too om sulaym for the clarification.

@ umsulaym : mmmm... I'm surprised ! I guess you're right ! Actually I did read that part, but too long time ago that I almost forgot!

Now I feel like I need to re-write this post to be for abbreviations only
