visa advice ..plz - residency1

Hi! friends need some important advice.. I m in a little bit of a spot here.. Im doing my residency on a J1 visa currently(3rd year).. My wife will be joining me somehwere in dec/jan on a j2 visa..Ill be applying for a waiver job in july next year(2011). so my wife will be on a J2 visa for Jan-july 2011 and i guess on an H-4 once i start my waiver in july 2011..She is also a doctor and is planning to start her residency in july 2012..will she able to start a residency in july 2012 on a J-1 or H1 visa??any advice from anybody??am a little concerned now if she will be allowed to do a residency while i'll be doing a waiver?? need advice ASAP..thx everybody

J-2 can apply for permanent resident. Try that route!
But she can certainly be sponsored to be a J-1 or H-1.

Thx mini doctor..ya ill definitely look in to the permanent resident thing as well..but atleast its comforting to hear that she can go back to an H1 or J1 atleast..

Nope. Once you are on a J visa, be it J1 or J1 you will have to go that path. It does not matter with your status. Consult a Immi Lawyer.
