Hi,
I am currently in US on an H4 dependent visa, planning to give my step 1 exam in April and step 2 ck in July. I was recently told by someone that with just completing my step 2 ck I wouldn't be eligible to apply for residency - final application date for which is 1st Sep 2011.
Has anyone heard of any such restrictions around visa status ? I checked the ECFMG.org site and it doesnt mention any such visa specific rules around the application.
In case if the state matters - i am planning to apply for NY / NJ states.
It will be great if someone can throw some light.
