Research Fellow needed for Interventional Cardiology Research Team at VA North Texas Healthcare System and UT Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas
We are looking for a motivated, hard-working, and enthusiastic medical graduate who is interested in working with our interventional cardiology research team. Desirable qualifications include prior research experience, knowledge of the Microsoft office suite, statistical analysis software, such as JMP or SPSS, and willingness to learn. The position will provide education on all aspects of clinical research, including study design, protocol writing, obtaining regulatory approvals, patient enrollment, data collection and analysis, and manuscript preparation. Research fellows will have ample opportunities for publications and presentation at local and national scientific conferences.
Our research team currently consists of 9 members, including 4 full-time and 2-part time research coordinators and 2 research fellows and receives funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Veterans Affairs and Industry. Our team is currently performing more than 30 clinical trials, and is publishing more than 30 peer-reviewed papers each year. Several prior research fellows have successfully secured clinical and research training positions.
According to VA policy, US citizenship/ permanent residency are a pre-requisite for employment. A commitment for 2 years is preferred.
