this is what i think...the cross section of the spinal cord, or the brainstem is not seen from standing from the pts feet. You're basically looking down on the gross specimen itself. So the question ids i posted basically has pictures that has the Right side listed as Right, and the other ones that is an MRI as the LEFT marked on the right side. Or the ones that are not even listed, they expected you to know that the Right side is the RIght, and left being left.
So bottom line i got to is, unless its MRI/CT, assume the Right side is the right side, and Left is left. Majority of the nbmes are listed with L or R on them.The question you posted, the nbme one, has the samething. The pt was having ipsilateral symptoms, with Lateral Medullary syndrome.
Unless someones got a better explanation, i would really welcome it. Cause i'd rather make a mistake and admit my fault at this time, rather than in the actual exam.
If i come across any other information in addition to this, i will post it on here.
