Minimum Passing Score Raised -

Dear Colleagues,

as you all will know the
Step 2 Committee decided to raise the three-digit score recommended to pass Step 2 from 174 to 182.

Does anyone know what that means in percent/the percentage of correctly answered questions?

Also, is it true that there are less questions than usual (400) for step 2 now?

the score is now 78% ...no 1 can tell u exactly the number of correctly answered questions because that largely depends on the compartive curve with ur peers on the same exam and within the same year...something like the standered deviation
yet on avarage around 58% of the Qs need to be correctly answered.

new format= each blook contains only 46 questions
46 X 8 blocks.

I will take Step 2 next Monday... 58% correct answers should be doable, considering that I have done qbank and the 150q around 64% under realistic, timed conditions...
