hey lina22. i am in the same situation as you (old img with no exp and planning to write step 1). I am trying coming out of depression (everytime i am coming close to maintain continuity and relapsing for a while) and all the above stories (thanks to all for sharing) are kind of inspiration. i think, we can do it. just don't give up. It might sound cheesy but that's my situation.

Hi All,
Good Afternoon.
Sorry to reply for this old thread, but still i felt like replying for everyone who is having a dream to work as a doctor in US.
What I know is that last year I applied against all possibilities, with only my step 1 score (very average one) only to 10 schools, no USCE, no contacts, graduated in 2007, and I did it during December. Still I had 1 interview. The bottomline is ignore all the negative comments, work hard, and do alot of research on the prospective resident admission criteria. Good luck to all.
