3 Amino acids need need four high-energy phosphate bonds each and you multiply that and it will give you 12

Initiation requires one GTP for activation ; And 4 high energy bonds ( 2 form ATP and 2 from GTP ) utilized in elongation . Doesn't that make it 15 for 3 amino acids ? Please correct me if I am wrong !

Only four high energy bonds are required .Check that in kaplan lecture page 55 regarding elongation.samideb

Ok..I got it...I was lost..the question only asks about chain elongation by inserting 3 amino acids
