nbme 2 blok 2 q 35 hbv replication - notym
#21

@notyme

-just look for what is being made.Is it a RNA-strand or a DNA-strand?

if RNA-strand is being made -------Enzyme is a "RNA-Polymerase"
if DNA-strand is being made -------enzyme is a "DNA-polymerase"

-Now where it is being copied from? from a RNA-strand or a DNA-strand?

if being copied from a RNA-strand-----then it's called 'RNA-dependent"
if being copied from a DNA-strand-----then it's called 'DNA-dependent"

Q3- When u say "Reverse Transcriptase", it is a RNA-polymerase activity or DNA-polymerase activity ? .

ITS DNA POLYMERASE ACTIVITY OF RNA LOL I DONT KNW IF I M INVENTING NEW CONCEPTS LOL..
REVERSE TRNASCRIPTASE IS SAME AS RNA DEPENDANT DNA POLYMERASE..WE SYNTHESIS DNA FROM RNA

HBV carry a "DNA polymerase":

it fxn as a

1-DNA-dependent 'DNA-polymerase" (complete the missing segment)
2-RNA-dependent "DNA-polymerase (fxn here as a Reverse Transcriptase)

The Intermediate RNA-strand that is formed in it's replication, is made with help of
"Host cell RNA-polymerase II"
