One grp concluded study A, which showed that hot beverage consumption is associated with esophageal cancer, with an odds ratio(OR) of 1.51 and 95% confidence interval of 1.19 to 1.81. The other grp concluded study B, whcih demonstrated and OR of 1.46 and 95% conficdence interval of 0.95 to 1.97. Which of the following is the best statement concerving the results of these two studies?
A. The result of study A is not statistically significant
B. the sample in study B is porrly selected
C. The result in study A is not valid
D. The sample size in study B is small
E. P value in study B is less than 0.95

The answer is D. becasue the OD for grp is not statistically significant because the CI of study B includes 1.increasing the grp size will make the CI tighter.
 My q is
even study A is not statistically significant because  its CI also includes 1 e:g 1.19 to 1.81 for grp A
could you pls explain it.f hot beverage consumption. Uw says abt study A that the CI in study A foes not include the 'null value' for the OR (that is1.0); therefore , the odds ratio achieves statistical significance. Pls anyone explain it.
Thank you.

What is the null value of ODD ratio.
I read the null value of hazard ratio (time to event analysis) is one. < is protective.> 1has detrimental effect.
Is the null value for ODD RATIO different than the null value for hazard ratio.
