Stool ex salmonella vs shigella - letsdream
#1
FA says salmonella causes mainly a monocytic response whereas shigella causes a neutr predominant response (p139). in a UW q it says a stool exam: WBC neutr predominant is typical for salmonella . Any comment which one is right?

salmonella is facultative intracellular so its predominantly monocytic response ,
while the shigella is invading the tissue so it's supposed to have a neutrophilic response

may be someone else can shed some light on this
