Down is number 1, so I guess Fragile X is number 2.

 . In the US, alcohol is not among top 2 causes of mental retardation.

I know that Down synd is 1 cause, Alcohol 2nd MC at least in USA

I don't know, I guess I just assumed that they want to know about most common genetic causes.
@ana01, do you have a source for that info or that's what you remember?

no alina l don't remember where l have read this, but this is what l know. Probably I have read it in uworld or Goljan but not sure. I will checked it and let you know later where l have read this.
