Children <2 years ” The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have recommended that all children up to 2 years of age receive the number of vaccine doses appropriate for their ages as follows [15,16]: A total of four doses should be administered. The first three doses should be administered at 2, 4, and 6 months of age. The first dose can be given as early as 6 weeks of age. A minimum of four weeks between the three doses is acceptable. The fourth dose should be given at 12 to 15 months of age but at least two months after the third dose. For older infants and children not immunized before 6 months of age, the number of recommended doses decreases depending upon the age at the time of first vaccination
