i think i would have scored even higher if i had done my clinical rotations. i took exam after first 2 years of basic sciences. usmle made changes to exam last yr, they did the unified content thing due to which a lot of clinical qs started showing up, like next best step in management, etc..
therefore i feel rotations would have helped. that is why i got a tutor because he used to tie in clinical information for me. the clinical side of things, how patient will present, what test will you do, how will you diagnose. etc step 1 in particular does not teach you that stuff thats why studying from a doctor helped me. the score might not look so great to you guys since its average and lower than the usual 240's 250's people i keep hearing from people but i honestly am very proud of it and i think i did really really well. i am so happy with what i got. |
