Pituitary adenoma help! - goforusmle
#11
The other question you had was how prolactin suppress the GnRH,,,,it is due to its -ve/inhibitory effect on hypothalamus. It is also important that prolactin regulates itself by increasing dopamine release from Hypothalamus (+ve effect), and dopamine has inhibitory effect on prolactin.

so we have here a FUNCTIONAL Adenoma, which is prolactinoma and i just did read that any tumore that destroy 75 % of the pituitary gland will cause PANHYPOPITIUTARISM with abnormalities in thyroid,Adrenal and reproductive organs BUT it seems that Aldosteron will escape this effect because of domination of RAAS on zona glomerulosa.
other causes are sheehans and craniopharyngioma= panhypopitiutarism.
so thats why in sheehans mother come to us saying that there is no milk for feeding the baby!! non functional panhypopitiutarism..

thank to all if want to add something please add it is helpfule such discussions
