*****scramble 2011***** - pahology11
forever07,
I dont really think so. Dont rush and take it easy. It does not matter how early you apply and I dont think that PD/PC will be sitting in front of the computer waiting for somebody to apply so that they can go a head and call him/her immediately......

They will have their time to secure the best for them and you should do the same.....

Dear ERAS Residency Applicant:

This communiqué does not infer anything whatsoever about your match status.
ERAS has no information regarding your match status.

Beginning at 12:00 noon ET on Tuesday, March 15th, a brief period of time,
commonly known as “Scramble”, is set aside for unmatched applicants and
ACGME-accredited programs to fill positions that went unfilled during the NRMP
Main Match. This brief period occurs between 12:00 noon ET on Tuesday, March
15th and 12:00 noon ET on Thursday, March 17th.

During this period, residency applicants who did not match to a position in
the NRMP Main Match may use ERAS to send applications, free of charge, to a
maximum of forty five (45) ACGME-accredited programs including both new
programs, as well as programs where they applied previously during the ERAS
application season. You are eligible for the free applications if your account
is paid in full and you have applied to and paid for at least one
ACGME-accredited program by 3:00 P.M. ET on Friday, March 11th.

NEW for Scramble 2011: Applicants may still apply or re-apply to a total of 45
ACGME-accredited programs during scramble from 12 noon ET March 15 – 12 noon
ET March 17. However, a maximum allotted number of submissions are allowed
each day. These are absolute maximums – applicants will not be able to apply
to more than that during the Scramble period, even if you are willing to pay a
fee to do so.

Scramble Day 1 – Tuesday, March 15th 12:00 Noon – Tuesday, March 15th 11:59 PM
- Allows you to apply or re-apply to a total of 30 ACGME-accredited programs

Scramble Day 2 – Wednesday, March 16th 12:00 AM – Wednesday, March 16th 11:59
PM - Allows you to apply or re-apply to a total of 10 ACGME-accredited
Programs

Scramble Day 3 - Thursday, March 17th 12:00 AM – Thursday, March 17th 12:00
Noon - Allows you to apply or re-apply to a total of 5 ACGME-accredited
programs

Please consult with your designated dean’s office for assistance when applying
to ACGME-accredited programs during Scramble. If you have any questions about
using ERAS during Scramble, contact our HelpDesk at 202-862-6264 for
assistance.

Oh people,

For day 1 scramble, although there is written that you can try from 12 noon to 11. 59pm, Pd/Pc will be available within5 pm, right. Yes, no one will be waiting your call, Yes, that's I agree.

And also, it's really hard to get through as all applicants are calling at the same time.

Have you study the graph how filled up the programs hourly during scramble.

After 4 hours, the graph is going down, very little program left.

Thus why, people said that for day2 and day3, you can't even complete your quota.
I may be wrong, that's I believe, but I have those evidence. So, think yourself people.

I understand why people are saying so, decide your own way and don't follow as other people said even ME.
Good luck people.

Guys if you have changes in your CV/CAF, you will need to apply through ERAS AND send e-mail to PC or PD informing them about changes. It will not only get the information to the right person, but will also draw their attention to your application.

E-mail is ALL you need, since no one will look at the faxes.

E.

@na00229, u need to be fast. yes patho and forever are right. AMG with their deans will be phoning/applying programmes the moment clock clicks 12. dear 90% spots filled in first 2 hour, so do u think u should wait? scramble is crazy day. that is why all are talking about extra phone fax and extra hand for the day!! yes application is only thru eras officially but they will be loaded so they will hardly look at application, hardly u get line connected, even nrmp website will be too loaded first few hour, i bet it is not going to be easy job unless u got someone to phone on your behalf.
I am stressed man!
one of amg told me some of prelim they keep unfilled intentionally, so if their own student if unmatched then it is for them. so almost 50% spots are actually booked even before it opens.
last year there were 6 unfilled in obgyn and guess 3 were booked and filled even before it opened. guess fmg situation in scramble.
