is ok dowite thanks for the help but i still don't get it. I think I am having hard time may be because i didn't get the question properly because i know p is one allele and q is one allele and there are two alleles in female b/c they have 2 X in heterozygous either a p or q is mutated but in homozygous p and q is mutated.

Ohh I got it when we are talking about X linked recessive disease male is only q and female is q(square). But we can also say male is only p and female is p(square). Can we? or we have to use only q and not p?
