unless u r trying to prove yourself something, there is no point in arguing this issue in this forum.
The best way to know if you would get your dream "Ortho" thing is by applying. Apply and see if there is anyone responding to your application. There is no point in pitching in the forum. Good Luck with that....it looks like that only luck is not enough in this case...you need Jesus himslef.

One more little advice for kolokiko
If you are so in love with ortho, you might even consider going back to your poor country and help people with all kinds of orthopedic problems...you won't be denied to practice there...you that's better than wasting your time doing the "nonesense" IM here...why waste your time in Europe? People are leaving Europe for the US...Think about it. I am just saying...don't take it personal.

tThis is just my opinion. I would think that the best chance to get into ortho is by graduating from US med school. You can increase your chances by going back to med school and apply for ortho later on. I know a surgeon who went back to med school in the US just so that he can do surgery. You can do the same too to fulfill your dream to practice ortho in the US. Rather than waste your time doing all those useless observership or externship which cannot guarantee you a spot anyway.

Why all people so angry here, with all my respect to everyone it is your right to fight for your dream, do not listen too much to people, if it is difficult it doesn't mean impossible, and this what makes the real difference between normal people and pioneers, if you believe well in yourself and your dream you can do it.I know people with moderate scores and need Visa got very difficult residencies like Neurosurgery and ENT , off coarse after years of fighting but they got it, and this makes the difference between Winners and losers, so focus, prepare yourself well and never forget our mercy God.
