general inducer for CYP450:
phenobarbital
phenytoin
carbamazepine
rifampin
chronic alcohol

general inhibitor:

Cimetidine ***
macrolide... esp. erythro...
ketocanazole
avirs
grapefruit juice
acute alcohol...
====================

remember in acetaminophen toxicity think abt the inducer not inhibitors... like chronic alcohol can cause acetaminophen toxicity... Smile

Okay, last of my renal facts:

Two things can increase the risk for developing adenocarcinoma of the bladder:
-extrophy of the bladder
-urachal remnant- will be located at the dome of the bladder


RCC can metastasize to retroperitoneal lymph nodes


ADPKD --> enlarged kidneys
Medullary Cysts --> shrunken kidneys

Holiday heart syndrome : associated with consumption of alcoholic + palpations = atrial fibrillation= which shows absent P waves + increase cardiac sympathetic tone.

a..fib findings ?? === irregularly irregular. no P waves. = lead to stasis or stroke.
Rx: b-blockers + warfarin.

the 50year old patient of COPD came to clinic for diagnosing weight loss. pt is found to have a mass in the center of main bronchus with the keratin pearls in the histology.
the doctor discuss if the pt is interested in quite smoking...the patient denies and says the effect of cigertte relieves him and make him feel better.
the effect of nicotine acts as
a. dec seretonin breakdown
b.inc GABA conc
c. inc dopamine release
d. dec GABA conc.
e. works as antagonist on NMDA receptors
