you can but waste your time.

for throat exam: just look generally, then use the torch shining in to SP's mouth to see 4 walls of the mouth (left, right, top, bottom), then ask SP to stick out his tongue and say ah.

torch or ophthalmoscope, it saves time( usually u need to do whole HEENT exam)
