67 yr old man is hospitalized with low grade fever,fatigue and distolic murmer at the left sternal border .blood culture revels gram positive cocci that are catlase negative and able to grow in 6.5% saline.this pt medical history most likily to reveal wich of the following prcedure in the past month..

A dental extraction
B skin biopsy
C sinus drainage
D nasal polypectomy
E cystoscopy

E for E. Faecalis, Infectious endocarditis.

Vancomycin resistant strains of E. faecalis have terminal d-ala-d-ala replaced by d-ala-d-lactate in the peptidoglycan later
