how totime cns examination like a case of tremors in old ...in whch cases shud we do mini mental exam in every case n cranial nerves,what bout sensory exam ...it doesnt get over in time what to do .....can we do cranial n of eye in heent exam...do we need to do heeent exam in these pts

do neuro only, not whole HEENT. including CNII-XII, extremities MRS, gait. romberg sign. also need to check thyroid.

do we need to do mmse in all cns cases.....any views

not all neuro cases. do MMSE only for assessing gross cognitive functioning. usually for any sign indicating dementia, delirum or amnestic disorders.
If patient only has headache, you dont have to do MMSE. save time for other neuro PE. |
