There was this question about a mexican child with ppd of 10. Next step? Do nothing or Do chest xray.
The point is, do u intervene at 10mm or does it have to greater than 10mm for cxr to be done.

There was this question about a guy with Barret's esophagus that had surgery. When do u repeat endoscopy? a. don't repeat b. In 6month c. when symptoms recur.

This was someone's exam q yesterday. So pls I would like to know.

Kaplan, uw and Microbiology made ridiculously simple say greater than 10. I don't why I have 10 or more in my head. Pls who is sure about this?

1. do CXR for the kid
2. Barrett's Esophagus without dysplasia -Repeat endoscopy with biopsy in one year
If no dysplasia x2, then endoscopy every 3-5 years
Low grade dysplasia -Repeat endoscopy with biopsy in 6 months
Then repeat upper endoscopy annually
High grade dysplasia-Upper endoscopy every 3 months

ulise the question reads the patient already had undergone the surgery [ read distal esophagestomy]...now what to do?

the protocol that you have given is for barrett's without prior intervention!

can you give in some info on that aspect?
