why interviews fail.
1.Inadequate preparation.
2.Applicant does not listen to the questions being asked.
3.Interviewers may get annoyed by having questions answered that were not asked.
4.Rambling, providing superfluous information.
5.Applicant inadvertently gives warning signals to the interviewer (inconsistent answers, abrasiveness, evasiveness, blaming others for applicant's problems, dullness).

One way to prepare for the interview.
Do what some US Presidential Candidates do preparing for the debates. You can't go wrong.

Write down a list of questions and answers you expect to be a part of your interview.

Practice these in front of the mirror. You will know exactly the kind of expressions you will make to the interviewer. Make corrections if you catch yourself picking your nose. You get my point.

Wanna make your preparation more enjoyable?

Use a camcorder and record your mock interview with your family member. Go over it a few times and make necessary adjustments. If you think I am joking, just ask yourself how much prep you did for the steps. Its really worth it. You need every competitive edge you can procure.
