What is the scope of Family medicine in India. - draashna

I know this question must have been asked earlier but I am not very clear on this.
Can we get decent job in india after doin FM in US? I am thinking only hosp jobs and not pvt practise?
Anyone has any input on this?

i guess it will b good coz in india if u r an md thats more than enuf to practice.moreover you will b a good practitioner after family med. residency. as u will b good at med,paeds and gynae together.not sure though if one can fit into a govt. hospital..

ok...... well then the answer to your question can be probably given by some one who HAS gone back...... I am yet to meet anyone who has gone back AFTER the finished residency....

But I am sure that other branches have a better future in private hospitals than family meds ( told to me by a friend who is director at reliance hosp in bombay)

so If you do plan to go back, try getting into IM/Pead/psych etc etc..... which can get your foot in easily

Thats what I thoight, in india there is no branch like FM so it may be hard to get a job there.
