Thank you for considering Kaplan-Compass-NMSR review courses for your preparation of the USMLE. It gives me immense pleasure to help you in this regard and provide you with more relevant information.

Kaplan USA is a leader in the training of medical graduates for the USMLE. It imparts training for the three steps of USMLE as well as CSA. It also is a pioneer in the training of students for the GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, NCLEX, and NDB. Kaplan trains more doctors than any other test prep company put together in the whole world.

Our company IAPEN (Indo American Professional Education Network Private Limited) is the sole licensee of Kaplan Educational Centers USA, for India. We have a broad network of centers, currently located in Bangalore, New Delhi, Madras, Bombay and Hyderabad. We will shortly offer our courses in Cochin and Calcutta.

Our center in Hyderabad is ideally located and has the necessary infrastructure, which mimics the setup in United States. The course we are currently offering is Step1, Step 2 & Step3 of USMLE. We are offering a two-day CSA orientation program, which is free of charge for our students.

The courses offered are video based, and is similar to the center preparation course offered by Kaplan centers in USA. The review is composed n a three-tier strategy:

1. The lectures are video based and are complimentary to the course material offered to the students. A thorough explanation is offered by the faculty who is videotaped, thus eliminating the need of live lectures. Because of this, a correspondence course cannot be offered.

2. At the end of every day's classes a group discussion is held, which is facilitated by a previous student, who has been trained for these sessions. This provides for a forum wherein doubts are clarified and also provides for a structured review of each day's classes.

3. At the end of every subject, an exam is conducted which is computer corrected. The students are then required to watch the exam review tapes, which will give an idea where they have gone wrong and how to avoid these mistakes again.

Each Step is for duration of 8-10 weeks. The center is well equipped with a modern library with all the necessary reference books for the USMLE. Since the USMLE is computerized, a computer lab has been provided with all the latest CDs and software which allows the students to simulate the actual exam. This provides the ultimate grasp of the subjects and invariably helps
the students to rise above the others, who unfortunately have decided to study on their own. We are open from morning 8 to night 11pm. We work on Sunday's too and public holidays have a restricted timing. You will be glad to know that many students have scored 99 (two digits) in Step 1 and 96 in Step 2. Majority of the scores is around 86. The pass percentage has been extremely high, close to around 99%. This percentage is much higher than that of our US counterparts, which shows that the Indian students have a clear edge over them, achieved with the help of review courses of Kaplan.

The fee charged for Step1&2 of USMLE is Rs.54, 500 (for each step), which can be paid by cheque, DD or cash in favor of IAPEN Pvt.Ltd. The fee for Step3 is Rs.29, 500. The fee structure is the same at all our centers to ensure uniformity. The fee charged by us in India is far cheaper than what is charged in USA. The same course in USA will cost upto three times more. Upon second time enrollment of the student subsequently after finishing the first Step he/she is automatically eligible for 10% discount.

We also provide boarding and lodging facilities for our out-station students, which will cost about Rs.2 000 for a shared accommodation, but have to be intimated at least two weeks before the planned arrival.
