AAFP (2006)
USPSTF
(2004)
Asymptomatic women----Recommends against routine screening.

AAFP (2006)
USPSTF
(2005)---1. Risk factors: aged > 60 years; low parity; personal
history of endometrial, colon, or breast cancer; family
history of ovarian cancer; and hereditary ovarian
cancer syndrome. Use of oral contraceptives
decreases risk of ovarian cancer.

Women
whose family
history is
associated
with an
increased risk
for
deleterious
mutations in
BRCA1 or
BRCA2 genes.-----Referral for genetic counseling
and evaluation for BRC

uw says
brca1 and 2 and transvag usg with ca125 twice yearly for females with first degree relatives less then 40 with ovarian cancer or multiple relatives with breast and ovarian cancer

if you have only one relative with ovarian cancer...only yearly tv usg with ca125

check the Tv add , LOL but true , there is no screen guideline for cancer ovary currently, some clincal trials may be out by 2010
anything u might find over the internet is case report and indvidualized evidence based , like a pt with known BRCA mutation,...etc but no formal guidelines
so on the exam
who to screen for cancer ovary, unlikely Q
