hey guys, Congratulations who has matched! and a question for all,

can I retake usmle step(s) and improve my scores after ECFMG Certification ?

no u can not and it is not wise idea to wait for 7 years to repeat exams just to increase scores.

i wanted to ask u..
i hav passed my step1 -99/246
cs result is waiting n i will giv ck in june
i hav done 3 observerships at 3 different places..
one is at san jose medical group
one is at good samaritan hospital san jose(community non teaching hospital)
third is at o connor hospital san jose(it has jus fm residency program)
so i will hav 3 uS lor from those 3 places...

recent grad 2008
wat r my chances of 2010 match??
does the obsevership which i did r good ones or average ones...
PLZ GIVE ME ADVISE

yes being fresh graduate will help u alot,yr observerships are good but if u can find teaching hospital ones then u will be in more better position.

BT ACTUALLY THERE IS ONLY STANFORD UNIVERSITY KAISER PERMANENTE N SANTA CLARA VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER NEAR WHERE I STAY WHICH R TEACHING HOSPITALS..
n o connor hospital which is teaching hospital as it has family medicine residency programme affilitted to stanford uni(where i m doing observership)

the above 3 hospitals doesnt allow nything no matter how much i beg

dear harsh, can you tell me how to get the observership? Do you have some connections or you can apply for the program in the hospital?
I am also in San Jose area, really need some observership.

I live in san jose area too. Are you saying Stanford doesen't even allow research? I thought the other 2 allow observership. Please elaborate on not allowing anything no matter how much you beg. thanks.

From what people have told me, Stanford does allow research. One has to contact them. Also, how did you contact the above hospitals for observership? If you want to personally email me, my email address is mynabird19. thanks.

Harsh or anyone living in San Jose can you pls kindly tell me how to get observerships here , I contacted good Samaritan , SCVMC and O'Connor and many more different clinics but of no use they don't offer observerships... If anyone can help me I'll be very grateful
