Yes..It's possible..
But you have to get an EAD which has to be renewed every year.
Some programs may not accept it as the J-2 will be dependant on the primary visa holder J-1.
So it depends on the program.

in that case, one should be able to get an EAD based on wifes Green Card too ?
is it true ? kindly clear my doubts
