I am an IMG ,I doing a volunteer at Anatomy and cell biology lab.I want to apply for Pathology.
1-How far this research will help me?
2-What is the difference between externship and observership in pathology ?
3-what do u recommend to improve my CV and my chance ?

Research may help for a pathology application.
step 3 is very important.
Externship and observership in Pathology is not much different since you deal with tissues and microscope any way. Very less interactions with patients in path. So, I would not sweat over the difference between exter and observ in Pathology.
