the first thing should be laryngomalacia, vascular ring and vocal cord palsy. Laryngitis is seen in older kids but the cough is characteristic.

Vascular ring includes basically, double aortic arch and right arch with aberrant right subclavian artery. The first one is associated with Di George syndrome.(22q11 deletion).

Questions: Is this stridor louder when the baby cries? (vocal cord palsy)
Is louder when the baby lies down??? (vascular ring)
The stridor is less intensive when the baby sleeps??(laryngomalacia)
In older kids find respiratory symptoms (flu-like syndrome) (Laryngitis)
Any sibling with congenital heart disease (vascular ring)
Ask also for fetal echo.

IF IT IS ACUTE EVENT WITH FEVER (EPIGLOTITIS)
IF IT IS ACUTE WITHOUT FEVER (FOREIGN BODY)
