guys pls help

Pt w/ blunt abd trauma

1) initially steble: do CT

2)initially unstable, but stable after fluid trial: do CT

3)initially unstable, and unstable after fluid trial: FAST then DPL

Im confused on 3), shud we do immediate LAPAROTOMY before FAST??
or is there any indication that we do LAPAROTOMY before FAST??

FAST will decrese mortality ........by avoiding blind laprotomy...and tell u the probable site of lesion

so, we shud always do FAST before laparotomy in blunt abd trauma

I wanna also ask about PENETRATING ABD TRAUMA


In GUN SHOT trauma, we do laparotomy in all cases

in STABBING trauma, do we follow the same criteria as BLUNT TRAUMA?? or any difference?
