a) oral metronidazole only
b) oral metronidazole plus metronidazole cream
c) metronidazole cream only
d) oral clindamycin plus albendazole


1. a 24 years old woman G1P1 15 weeks gestation presents with vaginal discharge which is frothy and greenish. Ph is 5. motile orginisms are seen on microscopy. whats the appropriate treatment for her?

2. same woman comes with grey white discharge. Ph is 5. epithilial cells with organism seen. the discharge is foul smelling. whats the appropriate treatment for her?

1)oral metronidazole only

i am not sure about these. i made these Qs up. had confusion. why not oral for both ( acc to kaplan notes, metronidazole oral is not contraindicated in pregnancy, even in first trimester).. can u explain..

U did a good job

the reason why i came up with ans was u gave me 2 choices one is oral and other one is topical and both are effective , i can choose any one of them

she is a pregnant, so i inclined to topical..

the trichomonas infection does not respond well to creams. for that i d totally agree with your answer. but i am unsure about the other one.
