There's a lot that you can do now to make your Scramble day more manageable.

You should recruit your team of helpers for Scramble Day, and give them all jobs. Make sure everyone knows in advance what he or she will be doing to help you.

Try to arrange access to several computers. The NRMP's site is always overloaded on the day of the Scramble, and the more computers you have, the quicker you will be able to access the DLUP.

Compile of your application documents into one pdf file and shrink it. Compose an email that you'll send to program directors on Scramble Day.

Prepare paper copies of this cover letter and your documents, and have them all ready to fax out. (or, better yet, arrange to use an online fax service; phone lines are jammed Scramble Day, and it is nearly impossible to get through to a program's fax machine using a dial-up fax.)

Review all of the programs in your specialty. Visit their websites, and check our their requirements for residents. (Or purchase lists from an online service.) Which programs are you qualified for? You certainly don't want to waste your limited time on Scramble day by calling up programs that won't accept you.

Best of luck!
