"Venadict sign"

if the hand is "CLAWED" as pope's blessing------>Ulnar nerve palsy(3,4 Lumbricals)

if the hand is not clawed and u ask the pt to "FLEX THE DIGITS" and if shows pope's blessing----->Median nerve(Flexor digitorum profundus)

When did everyone assume that FA is correct? The hand of benediction is a high median nerve lesion resulting in an inability to make a fist, and not an ulnar nerve lesion although an ulnar claw looks very similar. The key element is not to look at the hand position, but note where the sensory loss is!

Thanks suture...i am not assuming anything! lol..believe me i hate FA...but my exam is in 2 days and i wanted a quick review over things and so here i am with this stupid FA which is really driving me crazy!

Thanks for the clarification; really appreciate it.

Its MEDIAN nerve damage at the elbow & effects teh flexor dig. superficialis & fl dig profundus to the digits 1,2,& 3 & as ulnar supplies the 4 & 5 so if attempt to flex the fingers only 4 & 5 flexed so this sign produced
