there is a thing that all amgs do and that is apply for a volunteer position at a hospital in the us.

what you do is this go to the best hospital you find like harvard, yale columbia corrnell and call the volunteer dept tell them you are a medical student and want to volunteer and you can do like up to four days a week in the er surgery or other department from there you can meet other docs or med students and network your way into some doc office for free training alot of amgs do volunteer work it looks good on your resume to residnecy.

hope that helps if you need more info you can email me drjohn09

NEVER COME IN CONTACT WITH A PATIENT WITHOUT INSURANCE; you should not even risk it as it’s not worth losing your entire career over it, when there are legal clinical placement services through organizations. Observerships are just that: you observe! You don’t speak, touch, discuss, or interact in any way with a patient. Some states may even forbid you to talk about a patient with the treating physician while the patient is still in the office/hospital (so that no one alters the decision making of a licensed physician). Therefore although this term is well known to all residency directors, it is not an experience that is highly sought after by them (least favourable clinical experience).
