A 8 years old boy brought to you by his mom for office visit. He is healthy and attends school. One of his friends at school became sick with chickenpox. Boy didn't get any chickenpox vaccine before. Mom asks you what to do?
1. Give Ig.
2.give vaccine
3. Give Ig and vaccine.
4 do nothing
5. Give acyclovir

sorry, i double checked Kaplan CK, it says just give vaccine.
Postexposure prophylaxis with Ig only for newborn, immunodeficient, susceptible pregnant women

MTB p343 shows that susceptible childern and household contacts: VZIG and vaccine...
Is this wrong information?

Susceptible means immunodefient, which is one of the groups I listed. This kid is healthy.

I have a question that if it is immunodeficient , I thought you can not give live vaccine...
If immunodeficient pt who exposed chiken box we give both vaccine and ig?
