A 28 year old male undergoes induction chemotherapy for acute
myelogenous leukemia. He becomes severely pancytopenic, with a
WBC count of 1320/microliter, Hgb 7.9 g/dL, and platelet count of
72,000/microliter. He becomes comatose. A CT scan of the head
reveals a right parietal hemorrhage. He dies a day later. At

E.Aspergilus is vasoinvasive and can even occlude blood vessels...

E-- Aspergillus loves to invade the blood vessels and produce thrombosis. Neutropenia is a risk factor for aspergillosis
