look babe, syncope is syncope, no matter what the cause... so if thats the point of ur Q. then do ur basics.....
but if u mean like this is the pt presenting to u COZ of hocm induced syncope and u wanna kno the Mx now re the HOCM, u gotta do the usu echo, BBs, maybe also give -ve ionotropes and tell pt to stay away frm heavy work and diuretics.... PLUS, syncope in hocm means PUT A DAMN IMPLANTABLE DEFIBRILLATOR INTO THIS PT NOW!! hope that helps.... good luck! Cheers! Adrian

beta blockers are mainstay...diuretics too,,,,
refractory cases dual chamber pacing surgery. for arrythmias icd ,amiodarone thanks for review...

gloworm....... HOCM and HCM are diff..............
in H OBSTRUCTIVE CM ... you STAY AWAY from diuretics... (diuretics are cool for HCM!) in the hOcm, NEGATIVE INOTROPES like CCB are can also be GOOD FOR YOU...! u mixin them up my gloworm........ Cheers! Adrian

calcium channel can be used only for patients with no resting/provocable obstruction ,if there is obstruction then it can cause cardiovascular compromise due to its vasodilatory properties... adrian ....please correct me ..i thought that hocm was a type of hcm.... |
