The NBME11 is locked, so I decided to answer your question here.
Your way of thinking is correct, but for primary hyperparathyroidism. But in these questions they ask about the secondary hyperthyroidism due to chronic renal failure. Decreased absorption of Ca and Increased Phosphorus. SO HypOcalcemia, HypeRphorphatemia, increased ALP, and increased PTH. (due to deficiency of 1alpha-hydroxylase).
