kids need a varicella vaccine at 1 year old and then a booster at 4-6 years old

@doublebubble

for person 7-18 years of age give 2 doses of varicella vaccines if no proof of previous immunization! The time between 2 vaccine administration has to be 3 months if child less then 13. If older then 13 then time between 2 doses can be 4 weeks.

In a child 7-18 years old who has received previous one dose of varicella vaccine then that child needs only a booster vaccine!

Basic here is that everyone needs total of 2 doses regardless of age (of course you have to be older then 1 year age or immunocompromized)

Additionally
Anyone 60 years of age or older should get the shingles vaccine (Zostavax), regardless of whether they recall having had chickenpox or not!

Good luck
