We are looking for volunteer to be involved in our basic science research. We are a teaching hospital located in Providence, Rhode Island. Applicants are required to dedicate at least one year commitment (NOT applying for the match this year - 2011/2012).
Successful candidate will work with post-doctorals, research fellow and medical resident. You might be able to join the medicine noon conference, and/or tumor board. (subject to approval). You might be provided with access to the hospital's library online resources.
Our lab is focusing on cancer immunotherapy, and this particular project is an NIH funded project. Your responsibility will include, but not limited to: performing intraperitoneal injection to mice, surgical procedure on mice, cell collection and analysis with flow cytometry. You will work under direct supervision by a co-investigator.
This is a great opportunity if you are looking for a "hands-on, hard-core" research experience.
The lab is lead by physician - a fellowship program director of an ACGME accredited surgical fellowship program.
We cannot sponsor visa for a volunteer position. We plan to start our project in September, so priority will be given to those who live around providence, RI.
